BIG things are brewing over here at Are We Delicious? and honestly? We may have outdone ourselves this season. From poisonings and botanical gardens to reunions, laughter, Fringe dreams, and glorious theatrical chaos… here’s what’s coming up next for AWD:
FIRST UP: AQUA TOFANA: An Immersive Staged Reading
Developed in 2025, Aqua Tofana explores the story of Giulia Tofana, the infamous 17th-century woman behind the legendary poison that bears her name. Set in a world where women’s voices were silenced, this immersive new work dives into rebellion, resilience, survival, and sisterhood. And now? We’re redeveloping the piece with plans to take it on the road to Fringe Festivals across the Midwest. But before it tours… we want YOU in the room where it begins.
Join us for an immersive staged reading event where you’ll experience the show in development and help shape its future. After the performance, audiences will be invited into a post-show conversation where your feedback directly helps refine the production before it travels. What resonates? What lingers? What needs sharpening? We want to know!

We are THRILLED to announce that AWD has been invited to perform as part of Olbrich Gardens’ After Hours series! Join us on the Great Lawn for an evening of comedy, theatrical nonsense, and heartfelt celebration inspired by all the weird, wonderful beauty of Olbrich Botanical Gardens! We’ll be kicking off the evening with a funny, joyful outdoor performance before the concert begins.

Ohhhh this one is going to be special! We’re bringing together beloved Alumni & classic Delicious skits, brand-new work, old friends, fresh chaos, and the beautifully unhinged spirit that has made AWD what it is over the years. This is a celebration for every person who helped make this strange, fearless little theater company what it has become.
Whether you performed in one show or twenty…
Whether you wrote sketches at 2 AM in a panic…
Improvised your way through scenes…
Built props backstage…
Or helped shape the soul of Delicious behind the scenes…

In addition to performances, AWD will host a Fundraiser & Alumni Gathering on January 2nd following the show at The Bur Oak, including a memorial tribute honoring Delicious alum Karen Moeller: a luminous artist, collaborator, and friend whose creativity, generosity, and spirit continue to ripple through this community every single day. Karen embodied what Delicious has always been about: Fearless creativity. Community, Laughter, and Art that brings people together. And we cannot wait to celebrate that spirit with all of you!
